Need Volunteers

The Jefferson Fire District is currently seeking Volunteer Firefighters. In district and out of district volunteers. We offer a variety of areas in which you may join. Being a volunteer is a great way to get involved with to community.

Out of District Volunteer applicants will need to have an EMR, or Firefighter 1 certification.

History:
We cover 100 square miles which includes the communities of Jefferson, Millersburg, and Talbot and we average around 1000 calls a year. We respond on medical, fire, & rescue calls. We have two ambulances, one staffed 24/7 and the second staffed by volunteers.

There are a total of four fire engines, one 3,000 gallon water tender, two 2,500 gallon multi-use tenders, two brush fire pickups, one medium duty rescue unit, one light duty rescue, one rescue/brush pickup, two ambulances, one rescue boat, two command units, and one support unit currently in service.

Requirements:
• 18 years or older
• Insurable current driver’s license
• High school diploma or GED
• Pass background check
• Be in good health
• Pass drug screening
